Bloc Party's Kele Okereke has accused Jack White of being "treacherous" and only concerned with selling records.
The Bloc Party singer has launched a scathing attack on the White Stripes star, after Whitereportedly insisted it was not his business to get involved in politics.
Speaking as his group prepare to release their new album, A Weekend In The City, Okereke said White was "complicit with the capitalist society."
"I was amazed when Jack White said it wasn't his job to be critical about foreign policy because he was being paid to be an entertainer.I thought that was treacherous because it's complicit with the capitalist society," he explained.
"Selling more records is the only thing that's important to him not provoking debate", Okereke told British music paper the NME. |

| Ringo Starr to honor Oasis |
Ringo Starr is to present Oasis with their outstanding achievement award at next month's Brit Awards, it has been claimed.
The former Beatle is understood to have been asked to give the Gallagher brothers the award at the event in London.
Apparently Johnny Depp was set to make the presentation but has been forced to pull out, presenting Noel and Liam with an opportunity to meet Starr for the first time.
Ringo's son, Zak Starkey, is the current drummer in Oasis, having replaced Alan White in 2005 and played on their last LP, Don't Believe The Truth.
The 2007 Brit Awards take place at London's Earls Court on February 14 and will be presented by British comedian Russell Brand.
Scissor Sisters, the Killers, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Take That, and Oasis are expected to be among the ceremony live performers. |

| Kevin Federline is 'sorry' about Super Bowl ad |
Kevin Federline has something to say to those who are offended by an upcoming Super Bowl ad featuring him as a fast-food worker: He's "really sorry."
"The commercial is completely intended for me, making fun of myself and my own situation," the aspiring rapper, 28, told Associated Press Television in a recent interview. "It has nothing to do with anybody in the fast-food industry at all. So, you know, if we've offended anybody, I'm really sorry about that."
National Restaurant Association President and Chief Executive Steven Anderson said last week that the ad amounts to a "strong and direct insult to the 12.8 million Americans who work in the restaurant industry."
Nationwide Mutual Insurance Co.'s 30-second spot shows Federline performing in a glitzy music video. However, the punch line is that he's daydreaming — while cooking french fries at a fast-food joint.
It's a "`Saturday Night Live' skit on myself. ... Maybe it'll land me some good roles in Hollywood," said Federline, whose debut rap album, "Playing With Fire," has had dismal sales since its release last fall.
On Thursday, Federline's attorney confirmed that K-Fed and estranged wife Britney Spears will continue to share custody of their two young sons this month, following the terms of a January custody agreement. Spears filed for divorce from Federline in November after two years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences.
"I'm a good father," said Federline, who wouldn't talk about his personal life. "I love my kids and I'll always be here for (them)." |

| Anne Heche's Husband Files for Divorce |
Anne Heche's husband, Coley Laffoon, filed for divorce after five years of marriage, according to papers filed in Los Angeles Superior Court.
Laffoon, who cited the usual irreconcilable differences, is seeking joint custody of their 4-year-old son, Homer, and spousal support from Heche, the papers show.
Laffoon filed for divorce against the Men in Trees star Thursday and the papers were released on Friday. He gave no date of separation.
But earlier this month, Heche's rep confirmed that the couple had separated, saying: "They have requested that they be allowed their privacy at this time."
The couple wed in 2001. Laffoon, a self-described stay-at-home dad (whose parenting skills Heche publicly praised as recently as Jan. 14) met Heche when he filmed a 2001 documentary on her then-partner Ellen DeGeneres.

| Billy Joel Hopes to Remember Anthem Lyrics |
While Prince will tackle the half-time show at Miami's Dolphin Stadium, Sunday's Super Bowl XLI will kick off with the National Anthem sung by Billy Joel – who calls it "a tough song."
"It's not the greatest song ever written," Joel, 57, told a group of reporters in Miami Beach this week, when asked how it is to sing "The Star-Spangled Banner. "What it represents is a terrific thing. But 'America The Beautiful' is actually a better song."
What makes the Frances Scott Key lyrics so tough, Joel explained, is that the anthem, "was written early in the 19th century, and that's the vernacular of the song. Nobody remembers the lyrics because they don't know what they mean. The melody is difficult, and everybody drops out in the high notes. It's kind of a slog, actually."
When asked what will be going through his mind just before the performance, he cracked: "Don't forget the words."
Still someone must have liked the way Joel sang it before, since this will actually be a Super Bowl encore for him. The Grammy-winning Piano Man's other delivery of the National Anthem was prior to 1989's Super Bowl, also in South Florida. In fact, for a song that gives him problems, Joel sure seems to sing it a lot. "I did it at the Stanley Cup, I did it at the World Series, I did it at Super Bowl XXIII," he said, "so I'm kind of an old dinosaur doing this kind of thing."
By the way, asked whom he favors to win – the Chicago Bears or the Indianapolis Colts – Joel replied: "I have no idea. I was rooting for New York." |

| Tanith Belbin & Evan Lysacek: Ice Skating's Hot Couple |
They may not skate together, but Evan Lysacek and girlfriend Tanith Belbin are suddenly the hottest couple on ice.
"We started dating on tour last April," Lysacek, 21, tells PEOPLE. "We've been keeping it quiet."
Olympic silver medalist ice dancer Belbin, 22, adds: "It's really nice having someone there on a day-to-day basis who knows what [skating] means to you. At any event where we're together, I'm the happiest."
Belbin and Lysacek also have good reason to be happy professionally. On Jan. 27, he won his first national title, beating out Johnny Weir for the top spot at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships in Spokane, Wash. "It's hard to put into words how much I wanted to win this title," he told the Associated Press after the event.
Meanwhile, Belbin and her skating partner, Ben Agosto, won heir fourth straight national ice-dancing title at the same competition. The wins mean that both Belbin and Lysacek will compete in the World Championships in Tokyo next month.
To celebrate their success last week, "We ordered chicken fingers, milkshakes and chocolate cake and all that fun stuff," says Belbin. Adds Lysacek: "We both had a good week. We spent most of the time concentrating on events but we went out every night."
The romance between the two skaters first started to percolate last summer. "We have been good friends, but last year on tour something clicked," says Lysacek. "We get along and never fight."
He's even introduced Belbin to his family, "and they love her like she's one of their own. We give each other a lot of support." |

| Britney Spears: Being Single Is 'Awesome' |
Britney Spears doesn't miss being married.
When asked in New York on Friday how she likes being single, the pop star, who filed for divorce from Kevin Federline on Nov. 7, told PEOPLE: "It's awesome."
Spears grabbed the spotlight Friday while at the fashion show for Baby Phat by Kimora Lee Simmons and KLS Collection Fall 2007, which was held at the Roseland Ballroom in conjunction with Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.
Wearing a slinky black spaghetti-strapped dress and black peek-a-boo pumps, Spears posed for photographers upon her arrival, and was escorted to her front-row seat just moments before the show started.
As the models strutted on an elevated stage wearing sexy tweed outfits, double-breasted winter coats and big fur hats for the show entitled "From Russia with Love," Spears chatted at times with her assistant. She applauded with the rest of the crowd when model Alek Wek flaunted a colorful halter dress that dragged on the floor in the back but was a mini-dress in the front. "Oh my god," said Spears.
After the show, Spears told PEOPLE of the collection: "It was amazing."
Kimora Lee Simmons, who was backstage after the show, said of Spears: "Sometimes she gets a hard rap...[But] she is a very talented girl." |

LONDON, England (Reuters) -- Australian pop star Kylie Minogue has separated from her boyfriend, the French actor Olivier Martinez, after a four-year romance, the couple announced.
In a joint statement, they said the split was "mutual and amicable" and denounced press reports about their relationship.
"The media's false accusations of disloyalty have saddened them both. The two remain very close friends," said the statement, issued late on Friday.
Minogue, 38, a former television soap opera actress turned pop diva, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005 and returned to the stage last November after undergoing surgery and chemotherapy.
She told Elle magazine in November that Martinez, 41, had helped her through her illness. |

Australian pop singer Kylie Minogue and French actor Olivier Martinez have announced that their four year relationship has ended.
The pair, who were once rumored to be heading towards a wedding date, cited the reason for the split as “mutual and amicable”. Kylie recently returned to acting, 18 months after successfully battling breast cancer, with Martinez, who she described as her “rock”. Resuming her postponed Showgirl tour in Sydney in November, the popstar joked that she was “fashionably late”.
Minogue also fell ill at her Manchester show in January, causing the gig to be canceled. Doctors told Kylie she should not perform in the near future and should take a break after suffering from a “moderately severe respiratory tract infection”.
In a joint statement on behalf of the couple, the split was announced. “Olivier Martinez and Kylie Minogue have officially confirmed that they are no longer a couple.”
The Daily Telegraph in Kylie’s native Australia alleged that Martinez has been romantically linked to Lost actress Michelle Rodriguez and Israeli model Sarai Givati while with Kylie.
However, recent tabloid speculation on the fidelity of Martinez was criticized by the pair in the official statement, saying: “The media’s false accusations of disloyalty have saddened them both.” Meanwhile, speculation surrounding Martinez’ fidelity intensified last week after he was photographed having dinner with Michelle Rodriguez, who, according to numerous tabloid reports, stayed overnight in his hotel room. |

Courteney on whether motherhood surprised her: "I don't think so. Every day is new and exciting, but a surprise? No. I have a lot of nieces and nephews, and I know how adorable they can be. I assumed the love would just happen when you have a child, and it did. So maybe the big surprise for me has been how attached I am. I thought I would be the kind of mom who would be able to go away for a weekend and I'm not. I've only spent one night away from Coco. I need to see her. | Patrick Dempsey & Wife Welcome Twin Boys |
Patrick Dempsey and wife Jillian welcomed twin boys on Thursday, PEOPLE has confirmed.
The twins, named Darby Galen and Sullivan Patrick, were born in Los Angeles. They join 4-year-old sister Talula in the Dempsey household.
Dempsey, 41, who plays Derek "Dr. McDreamy" Shepherd on Grey's Anatomy and recently starred in the movie Freedom Writers, announced the pregnancy in September on Live with Regis and Kelly.
In January, he posed for Life with his head resting on Jillian's pregnant belly.
Asked how fatherhood has changed him, he told the magazine, "Now, making money is about providing for my children. And being a father makes you look at yourself. You look at your marriage and go, 'How do I improve this? How do I keep growing and create a stable environment for my children?' "
Dempsey and his wife met in 1994 when he came into her salon for a haircut. (She now has her own high-end cosmetics line.) They married in 1999 at the Dempsey family farmhouse in Maine. |

Ryan Reynolds and Alanis Morissette have called it quits – and this time, it's official.
Their reps, Dvora Vener and Meredith O'Sullivan, tell PEOPLE in a joint statement, "Ryan Reynolds and Alanis Morissette have mutually decided to end their engagement.
"They remain close friends and continue to have the utmost love and admiration for each other. They ask that their privacy be respected surrounding this personal matter."
Morissette, 32, and Reynolds, 30, had previously split in June, a source close to the couple told PEOPLE at the time, but within weeks they were seen walking in Vancouver, holding hands in L.A. and, on Oct. 1, kissing in New York City.
The singer and the Smokin' Aces actor, both Canadian-born, met in 2002 and dated for two years before becoming engaged in 2004.
They never announced a wedding date. "We're just really enjoying this [engagement] phase," Morissette told PEOPLE in 2005. Added Reynolds, "We feel like we're already married." |

As usual, Paris has been creating news waves at every turn. DUIs, lawsuits, sex tapes and now..... racism? While Paris Hilton’s storage unit sold her homemade ‘movies’, naked photographs and herpes medication, YouTube has posted a new incriminating video segment of the hotel heiress.
Her PR people must be going mad! Just when they thought her image couldn’t get any worse, footage in which Hilton makes racist and homophobic comments has been found on the Internet.
The video, filmed at a party attended by the socialite star and her handbag designer sister Nicky, shows Paris using homophobic slurs to describe the men in attendance and makes a derogatory comment about a woman.
She did not stop there. Paris then continued on to refer to her and her sister as “n******.”
The timing of the YouTube video release follows a week in which, thanks to an overdue bill, she saw her personal items sold to an internet entrepreneur.
Paris, nor her reps, has yet to comment on the latest PR nightmare. |

| Katie Holmes Loved Cruise ‘At First Sight’ |
In a Harper’s Bazaar magazine interview, Katie Holmes opened up about her life, including motherhood, falling in love and her career. In a romantic statement, Holmes claims she fell in love with Tom Cruise the moment she first shook his hand. It has also been noted that Katie had a crush on the star during her teenage years.
The new mother gushed about her life with the star, saying: “I love calling him husband.” As most everyone knows, Katie gave birth to the couple’s daughter Suri last year. She seemingly is loving motherhood and told Harper’s Bazaar magazine that she definitely wanted more children.
The one thing that may be stopping her is the fact that she also wants to make more movies. Last week, The Gossip Girls reported that the 28-year-old had dropped out of the sequel to 2005’s Batman Begins and had signed on to star in Mad Money along with Queen Latifah.
“I have a whole new set of responsibilities,” Holmes said in her first major interview since marrying Cruise at a star-studded wedding in Italy in November.
“My work is very important to me.” “My family is very important to me. When I go to work, it will be the right thing, worth my time and worth my time away from my family.”
In an interesting side note, Katie was styled for the magazine’s photoshoot by new best friend Victoria Beckham. Harper’s Bazaar editor Glenda Bailey praised Beckham’s fashion sense.

| Aguilera, Newton, Braxton to Headline NBA All-Star Show |
Everyone out there knew that the NBA All-Star game and Las Vegas could make for a good time. It has been announced that there will be musical festivities of the highest order at the event.
Crooner Wayne Newton will serenade fans with Viva Las Vegas and a contemporary version of Danke Schoen as players are introduced at the NBA All-Star Game on Feb. 18, the league announced.
Mr. Las Vegas will perform for roughly seven minutes before the game. And it doesn’t stop there. Mary J. Blige will perform during the NBA All-Star slam-dunk, skills and 3-point shooting competitions which take place on Saturday, February 17th. Blige will pay tribute to NBA Cares, the league’s social responsibility initiative, by singing the U2 hit “One.”
To cap it off, Christina Aguilera will headline the NBA All-Star Game halftime entertainment segment, along with Toni Braxton, on Sunday, February 18th. Aguilera will perform “Ain’t No Other Man” and “Candyman” while Braxton will perform a two-song medley.
Both events are being televised on TNT and begin at 8pm ET on February 17th and 18th. |

| Paparazzi Pamper Britney Spears? |
Britney Spears decided to apply the age old adage “if you can’t beat them, join them.” While driving from her home in Malibu to Las Vegas, Spears made multiple stops along the way at different service stations and the paparazzi were right behind her. Instead of just snapping away at Spears, the paparazzi actually helped out (which is totally out of character).
Some of the duties performed included helping her fill her car up with fuel, fetching the keys to use the restroom, and knocking on the door to make sure it was not in use. One snapper even went as far as to give Spears his jacket, because it was cold out and she was only wearing a sheer blouse and jeans.
The treatment of Britney Spears definitely raises some eyebrows as to what was really going on. Whether or not their were hidden motives remains unclear, but either way Spears really seemed to be grateful for their help. This makes one ask the question, if all paparazzi treated celebrities like this would it make their jobs easier, and help with their public image?
Whatever the answer is, don’t expect to see things up and change anytime soon. Brad Pitt was just giving the paparazzi outside his house a lecture on how they should leave him alone earlier this week. |

| Clint Eastwood Ropes In Humanitarian Award |
In an Associated Press release, it has been announced that Academy Award-winning director Clint Eastwood will receive the Motion Picture Association of America’s inaugural humanitarian award.
The 76 years and strong Eastwood will be presented the Jack Valenti Humanitarian Award at a private dinner Tuesday in Washington, D.C.
“For decades, Clint Eastwood has exemplified the decency and goodness of spirit in his moviemaking,” said MPAA Chairman Dan Glickman, lauding the filmmaker for his recent pair of World War II-themed works, “Flags of Our Fathers” and “Letters from Iwo Jima.” Both films have been widely acclaimed and well-reviewed.
"These films exemplify the true power of movies to tell human stories and inspire national conversation,” Glickman said.
Eastwood is nominated for an Academy Award for directing “Letters from Iwo Jima.” The film is also up for best picture.
The humanitarian award was named after the MPAA’s longtime chief, Valenti, who helped choose Eastwood as its inaugural recipient.

| James Brown's partner sues for half of estate |
The woman who claims to be James Brown's fourth wife wants half of the singer's estate and to be allowed back into the South Carolina home she was locked out of soon after his death.
Tomi Rae Hynie's lawyer said she filed a petition in Aiken County probate court Thursday, claiming that she is the surviving spouse of the singer and entitled to part of his estate, according to court documents obtained by the Associated Press.
She wants the court to allow her to return to Brown's Beech Island home to retrieve "personal possessions" that belong to her and their 5-year-old son, including furniture she picked out for the home, according to the court papers.
"She's not asking the court to live there," said Robert Rosen, Hynie's attorney. "They locked her out and wouldn't let her in but she has a right to go in and get her stuff -- furniture, her clothing, her son's toys. They keep saying that they're going to do it but they never do it so we're going to ask a judge to order them to do it."
Brown's attorney and trustee, Buddy Dallas, said Hynie never asked for any personal items from the singer's home.
"She never requested anything," Dallas said. "She's used a camera crew and a lawsuit. I'm sure the court will inquire into it and make a proper determination."
Hynie would not talk about the particulars of the petition Thursday, but told The Associated Press by phone, "I have a long hard battle to fight for my husband's rights, for my rights and for my son's rights that have been completely violated during this time. I am his wife. It's my home."
Dallas would not say how much the estate is worth and the court papers do not provide an estimate.
Brown died December 25 in an Atlanta hospital. His body remains in a sealed, gold casket in an undisclosed location awaiting a decision on where to bury it, said Charles Reid, manager of the C.A. Reid Funeral Home in Augusta, Georgia, which handled Brown's funeral. |

| J.K. Rowling marks spot of 'Potter's' end |
J.K. Rowling marked the spot where she finished the final "Harry Potter" book.
"J.K. Rowling finished writing 'Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows' in this room on 11 Jan 2007," read the message on an antique-style statue at Edinburgh's five-star Balmoral Hotel.
The writer announced on Thursday that the seventh and final installment in the series, which tells the story of Harry during his final year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, will be published July 21. (Are you excited? Let us know on the Marquee blog.)
"I can confirm she did write some of the book at the Balmoral last month and did complete the book at that hotel," the author's spokeswoman, Nicky Stonehill, said.
The hotel said it does not encourage guests to write on hotel property, but Rowling is a special case.
"Obviously this is quite a unique case," hotel spokeswoman Jessica Trotter said. "We're honored and flattered she chose the Balmoral as surroundings to do her writing."
As a single mother on welfare more than a decade ago, Rowling used to sit in cafes near the Balmoral while writing her first book, "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone." (The book was renamed "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" in the United States.)
Since then, Rowling -- who lives in Edinburgh with her husband and children -- has seen her books sell more than 325 million copies in 64 languages.
Four hit movies already have been adapted from the Potter books. The fifth film, "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix," is scheduled to come out July 13, eight days before the release of "Deathly Hallows." That film is a production of Warner Bros., like CNN a part of Time Warner. |

| Farrah Fawcett's doctor says she is cancer-free |
Farrah Fawcett got an unbeatable gift for her 60th birthday: a clean bill of health. The actress, who revealed in October that she was fighting cancer, learned this week that she is cancer-free, spokesman Mike Pingel said Friday.
Dr. Gary Gitnick, Fawcett's lead physician at the University of California, Los Angeles, said the actress "has had a full and complete response to treatment."
"Her prognosis is excellent," he said.
The former "Charlie's Angel" star said she was "deeply grateful" to her doctors and her family and friends "who have sustained me as I battled this terrible disease."
"This is an extraordinarily happy day for me and my family," she said in a statement. "I hope that my news might offer some level of inspiration to others who unfortunately must continue to fight the disease."
Fawcett planned to celebrate her birthday Friday with family and friends, Pingel said, and expects to return to work "in the next month or two."
Fawcett did not disclose the kind of cancer she was treated for. Her ex, Ryan O'Neal, told People magazine she was being treated for anal cancer. |

| Review: Ignore 'Because I Said So' |
Diane Keaton is a mother determined to marry off her youngest daughter (Mandy Moore) in "Because I Said So."
Apparently -- at least as far as Hollywood is concerned -- they want trite romantic comedies like this one, contemporary fairytales where every little princess will eventually find her perfect prince, even if she has to kiss a few frogs along the way.
Written by Karen Leigh Hopkins and Jessie Nelson, "Because I Said So" begins ceremoniously at a couple of weddings. With Maggie (Lauren Graham) and Mae (Piper Perabo) duly married off, uber-mom Daphne (Diane Keaton) can finally devote all her attentions to silly Milly (Mandy Moore), who's a worry, what with her auto-destructive dating record and a nervous habit of giggling inanely whenever a man is within chatting distance.
She may have three daughters, but for the purposes of the movie Daphne is a cautionary singleton (dad went AWOL in some unspecified period of ancient history and stays that way). The last thing she wants is for any girl of hers to end up the same way: alone and turning 60.
So no matter that Milly appears to be running her own company (a catering firm with a big line in wedding cakes), and forget for a minute that Mandy Moore is, what? All of 22 years old? It is Daphne's mission to usher her to wedded bliss before the fade-out.
Taking matchmaking into her own hands, she places the world's longest personals ad on her daughter's behalf, and interviews the surprisingly numerous but "laughably" unsuitable respondents at a swanky hotel dining room. |

| Whitney Houston Speeds Up Bobby Brown Divorce |
In recent legal proceedings, Whitney Houston has indicated that she wishes to speed up her divorce from R&B singer Bobby Brown.
Whitney filed for a divorce from Brown in October of 2006, but has now requested a default judgement from Orange County superior court. This is a legal move that could speed up the divorce proceedings. The news was just reported by Celebtv.com, which also added that the 43-year-old singer requested custody of the couple’s daughter Bobbi Kristina, 13, with visitation rights granted to Bobby
In the court papers, Whitney checked the box that stated there are “no issues of division of community property” between the couple, who wed in 1992.
New Jersey-born Whitney, who has sold a million albums worldwide, is expected to release a new album this year with rumored collaborations including hip hop notables Akon and Missy Elliot.
It is also thought that Whitney will be calling on the help of her soulful family during the next year by recording a new song with her mother Cissy Houston, cousin Dionne Warwick, her daughter and a handful of other relatives.

| 'Minds' gets prime post-Super Bowl time slot |
LONG BEACH, California (AP) -- The team from "Criminal Minds" is attempting to build a profile of an unknown suspect who must be stopped before he commits more heinous crimes.
Gathered around a desk, the elite FBI squad's brains buzz and leap, their words flowing with clever ideas as they watch Web video and listen to a 911 call.
"We may be asking the wrong question," interjects team leader Jason Gideon, cutting into the combined thought processes of agents Aaron Hotchner, Emily Prentiss, Derek Morgan, Dr. Spencer Reid, and Jennifer "JJ" Jareau.
The disparate team, headed by Mandy Patinkin's Gideon, a brilliant behaviorist, also includes computer whiz and fashion freak Penelope Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness). Her appeal, coupled with the public's fascination with murder, mayhem and serial killers, has made the CBS series a smash hit in its second season.
The show's regular time slot is Wednesdays at 9 p.m. EST. But the network is giving the series an added push, airing an episode titled "The Big Game" in the coveted post-Super Bowl slot on Sunday, February 4.
"It's completely shocking, because I had no idea anyone was considering us (for the slot). It's the most incredible opportunity I've ever had. I'm also a Chicago Bears fan, so it may be the greatest single day of my life," enthuses executive producer Ed Bernero. Although most of the cast registers some degree of excitement about the high-profile air date, Bernero stresses the special episode won't differ too much from the norm.
He defines that norm as "telling stories that are Arthurian in nature. ... We have someone in distress, a team meets at a round table, is called to adventure, and goes out to battle monsters." |

| Lindsay Lohan Withdraws from Movie for Rehab |
Lindsay Lohan has taken a pounding in the press for her laissez-faire attitude towards rehab, and at least some part of the message made its way through. The Gossip Girls have learned that Lindsay has decided to remove herself from the upcoming film “A Woman of No Importance”. This move was made so that she can focus all of her energies on getting better.
Lohan’s publicist, Leslie Sloane Zelnik, told TMZ that Lindsay is “putting herself first and decided not to push herself”. Lohan, says Sloane, will be taking a few more months of downtime before she embarks on the press tour for the upcoming “Georgia Rule.”
As reported by The Gossip Girls on Monday, many residents at the rehabilitation facility (Wonderland) in Los Angeles were upset with Lohan’s trips out of the facility, and the fact that she was being allowed to continue work on her new movie while in rehab. This is the first step in the right direction, but there is still a long way to go. Lohan is still one of the hottest stars in Hollywood, and has a chance to show that she is committed to change.
Also, in other news that is only somewhat related to this story, but totally worth mentioning; Mike Tyson is now attending the same rehab facility as Lohan. I wonder what Vegas would set the odds at for Tyson and Lohan hooking up in rehab? |

| Beyonce Knowles Named Top Fantasy Girlfriend |
After disappointingly missing out on an Oscar nomination, Beyoncé Knowles can take comfort in another honor recently bestowed upon her. She has just been named the No. 1 fantasy girlfriend, according to AskMen’s Top 99 Most Desirable Women of 2007.
According to msnbc, the 25-year-old singer-actress heads the list, which ranks the “most alluring” female celebrities as determined by its readers and staff. Voters were asked to consider qualities beyond sex appeal and beauty, such as “intelligence, humor, charisma and ambition,” according to AskMen staffers. More than 8.5 million votes were cast. Knowles, who was rated at Number 50 last year (yeah, its a bit surprising...a 49 spot jump), finished ahead of Hollywood star Scarlett Johansson followed by 2006’s winner, Jessica Alba. Rounding out the top 10 were Adriana Lima, actress Jessica Biel, model Alessandra Ambrosio, singer Shakira, TV host Maria Menounos and actresses Angelina Jolie and Elisha Cuthbert.
All of these girls have got it going on, but after being left out of the Oscar’s for the song that she helped write, we’re glad to see Beyonce receive a little consolation. |

| Aniston Adresses Plastic Surgery, Lesbian Kiss |
In a recent interview conducted by People magazine, Jennifer Aniston opened up about a number of topics that have been swirling around her. Most notably, she discussed plastic surgery rumors and delved into her tv smooch with pal Courteney Cox (yes....it should be quite an episode!).
Aniston’s looks have long been the subject of many tabloid reports and now, with her guest star appearance on Cox’s new show “Dirt” (she plays a rival tabloid editor), Jennifer got an inside look at the industry that scrutinizes her so.
“People are ruthless and cut-throat and will stop at nothing,” she gushed to the magazine. As for the plastic surgery rumors, reportedly on her nose and breasts, Aniston laughed and said: “It’s funny. I had (a deviated septum) fixed — best thing I ever did. I slept like a baby for the first time in years. As far as all the other (rumors), as boring as it sounds, it’s still mine. All of it. Still mine,” she laughed.
Life & Style magazine reported in its latest issue that Aniston had a full rhinoplasty, citing reasons like competition with her ex-husband Brad Pitt’s new partner, Angelina Jolie, and the recent breakup with actor Vince Vaughn.
“Short of letting everybody have a feel, I don’t know what else to do. I really am pretty happy with what God gave me,” she says.
Moving on, Jennifer reunites with her former “Friends” costar when she guest stars on “Dirt” as Tina Harrod, a lesbian tabloid editor. Things get hot between Jennifer’s character and Courteney’s tabloid queen, Lucy Spiller. “It’s a good-bye kiss,” Aniston says. “I don’t honestly think people want to see Rachel and Monica (from Friends) have at it.” ....... I wouldn’t bet on that one.
Speaking of bets, Aniston says she and Cox laughed at how big a deal the kiss has become. “Of course! I think I won a bet. I told Courteney, ‘How many days will it take to come out?’ ‘Lesbian kiss! Lip-lock!’ It was a record: about a week.”
The episode, which airs March 27, marks the first time the two “Friends” stars have worked together since the popular, long-running sitcom went off the air in 2004.

| KT Tunstall makes most of 'Idol' connection |
YORK (AP) -- If KT Tunstall wins a Grammy next month, she might consider thanking two of the most unlikely people in her acceptance speech.
One would be "American Idol" runner-up Katharine McPhee. The other: jazz trumpeter Olu Dara, father of the rapper Nas. Without them, Tunstall might still be strumming a guitar in London coffee shops.
"Me, McPhee and Nas' father need to go to a wicked bar in Times Square and suck one down and talk about how great my career is," says the Scottish singer-songwriter with a laugh.
Nas inadvertently handed Tunstall her first big break when he pulled out of an appearance on an influential BBC show in 2004 after his father fell ill, allowing Tunstall to fill in. And it was McPhee who raised Tunstall's American profile by belting out her infectious hit "Black Horse and the Cherry Tree" -- twice -- during the last "Idol" run.
Partly thanks to them, Tunstall's debut album "Eye to the Telescope" has sold 3.5 million copies worldwide and earned her a Grammy nod for best female pop vocal performance. Many of her songs have been featured on hit TV shows.
Along the way, Tunstall has remained fiercely grounded, even while rubbing shoulders with her musical peers when she was invited to the Grammy nomination announcements in Los Angeles in December.
"I was at a photo call with Justin Timberlake and Mary J. Blige just going, 'Oh my God. I was unemployed like five years ago. This is not who I am!' " she says.
"A light bulb went off just five minutes after me getting stressed out about it, going 'You don't have to do anything. Just carry on. It's what got you here.' " |

Model Danielle Lloyd was interviewed by police as a witness.
LONDON, England (AP) -- A contestant in British reality TV show "Celebrity Big Brother" has been questioned by police over a racist bullying row, her lawyers said on Friday.
Model Danielle Lloyd, a former Miss Great Britain, was interviewed as a witness on Thursday over alleged comments made by her and several other contestants about Indian actress Shilpa Shetty.
"She was interviewed as a witness, not under caution," said a spokesman at Lloyd's lawyers, London solicitors Schillings.
The 23-year-old had requested the interview "because she wanted to cooperate and raise her own concerns too", Lloyd's spokeswoman was quoted by the Sun newspaper as saying.
Lloyd became the first contestant to be interviewed by police over the row. Theoretically police could bring charges of incitement to racial hatred, carrying a maximum 7-year jail term. Lloyd, television personality Jane Goody and several other housemates have been vilified by the media following their comments about Shetty, which generated thousands of complaints and prompted an uproar in India.
Shetty, who won the show by public vote, was called a "dog" on the program and a few of the housemates refused to learn her name, referring to her as "the Indian" and "Poppadom."

| Miss USA: 'I would try anything once' |
NEW YORK (AP) -- Miss USA Tara Conner, who nearly lost her crown for hard-partying in New York nightclubs, says in the upcoming issue of People magazine that her recent stint in rehab was a wake-up call.
"I didn't think I had an issue -- but I was willing to do anything to save my job. ... I've realized that I suffer from the disease of alcoholism and addiction," says Conner, who logged in 31 days at the Caron Foundation rehab center in Wernersville, Pennsylvania.
"I was an equality-opportunity (user) -- I would try anything once," Conner, 21, tells the magazine in its February 12 issue.
At a much-publicized press conference in December, Donald Trump, who owns the Miss USA pageant, said the contrite Conner could hold onto her crown if she changed her ways. She then entered rehab. (Gallery: Pageant scandals)
In her interview in People magazine, her first since leaving treatment, Conner admits that she's dabbled in cocaine.
"Cocaine was one of the drugs that I did use," she says. "It's hard to look back at that."
Alcohol, though, was her biggest vice.
"I'm an alcoholic. It was a craving thing -- once I put it in my body, I would start craving more," says Conner, who notes she drank heavily but wasn't "getting sloppy drunk and dancing on tables."
As for reports that her wild ways also included promiscuity, she says, "I would talk to more than one guy at once -- it doesn't mean that I was sexually active with every one of these people."
The Kentucky native, who has a family history of alcoholism, says her problems "didn't develop overnight." And, she adds, "It wasn't New York City's fault."
Her mother, Brenda Johnson, tells the magazine that Conner once showed up to school drunk when she was 14 -- the same year she won her first beauty pageant and her parents divorced. |

| Kate Moss Single Again: Dumps Doherty |
The unsteady relationship between supermodel Kate Moss and singer Pete Doherty has seemed like a train wreck waiting to happen. Two notorious drug abusers with fame, fortune, and youth. Fortunately enough, it appears as if Kate Moss is getting off board before its too late.
Doherty, the Babyshambles front man, was pictured in the Sun recently appearing to inject himself with cocaine during a trip to Thailand, shortly after jetting off for a break from his girlfriend, Moss.
During video footage published by the Sun, Doherty is seen with a needle and two other backpackers in a dingy shack and can be heard talking on the phone to someone, thought to be Kate Moss. After this latest installment in the young singer’s long history of run-ins, Moss is said to have had enough.
A source told the Daily Mail that the pictures of Doherty prompted Moss to put the brakes on her relationship with Doherty, particularly as the images are said to have been taken just days after the couple staged a ‘commitment ceremony’ at the start of the new year in which they exchanged rings.
“Kate is understandably livid about these pictures,” the anonymous friend revealed.
“That they were taken just two days after their special commitment ceremony simply adds insult to injury.”
“Of course Kate still loves Pete and vice-versa but she’s a clever woman and knows that she has got to put her career first.”
Kate is reportedly planning to avoid being seen out with her ex-beau and putting some “distance” between the two. The images were widely condemned, with campaigners criticizing Doherty for glamorizing drugs and urging him to address his addiction.

| Federline Rejects Spears Divorce Settlement |
Britney Spears’ notorious ex-husband, Kevin Federline, has reportedly turned down a divorce settlement worth $25 million.
There are contradictory reports as to the reason for the turndown. Some K-Fed backers are claiming that he refused to accept the offer because he feared it would translate into cutting ties with his sons - Jayden James and Sean Preston. Others believe that he is looking for a number closer to $50 million.
Meanwhile, Britney Spears and Kevin Federline will continue to share custody of their two young sons this month, following the terms of a January custody agreement, Federline’s attorney recently confirmed. That agreement has been temporarily extended for February, said publicist Michael Sands, speaking on behalf of Federline’s attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan.
Britney agreed last month to temporary joint custody of 1-year-old Sean Preston and almost 5-month-old Jayden James, with visits from Federline.
As with the terms of that agreement, Federline will continue to be allowed to visit the children at Britney’s pad from noon to 4 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Seemingly, both Brit and K-Fed, who split in November last year, are now seeking sole custody of their children.

| Sarah Silverman's appealing, appalling character |
NEW YORK (AP) -- Fans of Sarah Silverman will quickly recognize the character she plays on her new Comedy Central series. To start with, the character is called Sarah. Furthermore, this particular Sarah continues the tradition of winsome depravity long embraced by the humorist-actress who shares her name.
During years of standup comedy, TV appearances and film roles, Silverman has mined laughs from 9/11, AIDS, the Holocaust, rape and Martin Luther King, among other topics that most comics leave safely buried.
Now "The Sarah Silverman Program" (premiering Thursday at 10:30 p.m. EST) gives a fresh twist to her freewheeling wrongness in the person of a flighty, self-consumed slacker. Sarah's response to a lengthy TV benefit for children with leukemia? She rousts herself from the couch to go buy fresh batteries for her remote ... so she can change the channel.
A farting contest with her friends has an unfortunate outcome for Sarah. Subsequently granted any wish by God, she requests ... a better fart. On this week's episode, Sarah gets drunk on cough syrup and crashes her car into a playground. But not before snubbing an elderly woman at the drug store for looking old ... just moments after praising the woman's youthful appearance.
This is the sort of mindbending behavior Sarah makes a practice of, inflicting whiplash on anyone who crosses her path -- including the audience.
"I don't think anybody's gonna say, 'Oh, she's a good person,' " Silverman acknowledges with a smile. But the funny, often shocking thing about Silverman's show is: You are drawn to the character, however appalling, even as she pushes you away with a rude shove.
This is Silverman's specialty. After all, she is the comic who in her standup act tells the crowd, "I don't care if you think I'm racist. I just want you to think I'm thin." Silverman's comedy has always been based on saying the opposite of what she feels, in the service of exposing buried truths about prejudice, pettiness or sundry other wrong-headed attitudes.
Then again, maybe not. "I don't know if it's like: Hey, we're all thinking this, and now I'm saying it," she muses. |

| Stefani Wants Son To Marry Jolie’s Daughter |
In a recent interview, Gwen Stefani casually stated that she wouldn’t mind seeing her son Kingston marry Angelina Jolie’s daughter Shiloh. When they grow up, that is.
Gwen and Angelina are close friends and their children have been on several playdates together.... sparking hopes of a future romance. Gwen told Elle magazine: “Kingston and Shiloh play together. They were like two little blobs when they met. Maybe they’ll get married when they grow up? That’d be cute!”
Stefani gave birth to Kingston, her son, with British rocker husband Gavin Rossdale, in May last year.
On another note, the singer also revealed she competed against Angelina when they auditioned for the same role in ‘Mr and Mrs Smith’, the movie where Angelina fell for Shiloh’s dad Brad Pitt.

| Mariah Carey To Grace The Cover Of Playboy |
Pop star Mariah Carey will appear on the March 2007 cover of Playboy in a skimpy skin-colored bathing suit. The singer surely made some money to spend with her credit cards for the shoot...but is there an ulterior motive?
The chart-topping singer posed for the men’s magazine to accompany a feature on the “Sexiest Comeback” for which she provides answers to 20 “revealing” questions.
Media reports speculated the star would be making an appearance in Playboy and photos from the shoot were leaked online this past week.
A spokesperson for Playboy has confirmed Carey will be featured on the cover of the magazine, which hits newsstands in the States on February 9th.Now keep this in mind. In court documents filed last month, Mariah expressed concern that her fans might confuse her with the porn star who was changing her name to Mary Carey, a contention laughed off by the porn star.
“It seems humorous that a musician as popular as Mariah feels her millions of fans might purchase a Mary Carey adult DVD instead of a copy of The Emancipation of Mimi because they are confused by the name,” the other Carey told avn last month.
However, with her foray into not-quite-nude modeling, it’s possible that Mariah may be upping the odds of being mistaken for her porn star nemesis. This is a clever legal strategy, perhaps.
Aside from taking a turn in Playboy, Carey is up for two awards at the 49th Annual Grammy Awards next month: Best R&B Song and Best R&B Female Vocal Performance for “Don’t Forget About Us.”

| Johansson & Stiller Win Hasty Pudding Awards |
Ben Stiller and Scarlett Johansson have been named this year’s recipients of the annual Hasty Pudding awards, given by a student drama group at Harvard University, according to a cbs news report.
The awards, which were announced January 29th, are given by Hasty Pudding Theatricals, the nation’s oldest college undergraduate drama troupe to performers deemed to have made a “lasting and impressive contribution to the world of entertainment.”
Scarlett Johansson, 22, will lead a parade through Cambridge on February 15th, then attend a roast in her honor and receive the “Pudding Pot.”
The actress has appeared in such films as “Lost in Translation,” “The Girl with a Pearl Earring,” “Match Point,” and “The Black Dahlia.” She was also recently linked to singer Justin Timberlake, but those rumors have subsided.
Ben Stiller, 41, will be roasted on February 23rd, when he will receive his “Pudding Pot.” The roast will be before the opening night performance of the theater group’s production of “The Tent Commandments?”
Stiller currently stars in “Night at the Museum” and has appeared in “Meet the Parents,” “Meet the Fockers,” “Dodgeball” and “The Royal Tenenbaums.” He directed “Zoolander,” “Reality Bites” and “The Cable Guy” and is the son of legendary comic actors Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara. | P Diddy & Sienna Miller Couple Alert |
The first time everyone sort of blew it off. Now, rumors surrounding P Diddy and Sienna Miller are growing as the two have been spotted together again. This time the two were seen sneaking into her hotel after a night of clubbing.
The two, who recently were introduced at a film festival, were seen laughing and joking as they pulled up outside a New York hotel at 9 a.m. That’s right, the morning after.
There is no proof that Miller, former flame of Jude Law, and Diddy are romantically linked, but when P Diddy realized that they had been spotted together, he told his security detail to ask the photographers to delete the pictur
Moments later, he then went over to the photogs himself and insisted that he was simply giving Sienna a lift.
He said: “Man, I was just being a gentleman and dropping her off. Yeah, we all hang out together but there’s no more to it than that.”
P Diddy then followed his companion into the hotel and remained inside for 45 minutes before leaving.
While it is true that the two could have just hit it off as friends, that scenario seems a little difficult to buy into. Nonetheless, as long as the two are enjoying themselves… there are no worries on this end. |

| Daniel Radcliffe Stars in Sexy New Photos |
As if by magic, Daniel Radcliffe has gone from Harry Potter to buff young man.
The 17-year-old actor, who is about to bare it all in the London stage revival of the play Equus, has shed his spectacles – and just about everything else – to reveal his acting chops for a series of sexy photos to promote the upcoming production, which opens on Feb. 27.
Even the play's producers are surprised at Radcliffe's dramatic transformation. "To have a six-pack like that at that age, when some people try for 25 years to get one ... we were gobsmacked (translation: amazed) at how suddenly he turned into this swan," producer David Pugh tells PEOPLE.
Equally amazed is the public's response. Radcliffe's camp has told the British press his Potter fans are very supportive of his new image. Writes one admirer on a news Web site: "OMG he has got a great buff bod!!"
Radcliffe will not only appear naked but also have a sex scene in playwright Peter Shaffer's drama, which won a Tony award for Broadway's best play in 1975. Richard Burton starred in the 1977 film version, in the adult role Richard Griffiths (The History Boys) will now play opposite Radcliffe. As for the young star's stage presence, "Peter (Shaffer) and I were watching the workshop production, and you couldn't take your eyes of Daniel," says Pugh. "That's when Peter said I could have the rights (to revive the play). We had faith in him."

ustin Timberlake and Jessica Biel have been spotted chilling, flirting and snowboarding lately – but don't peg them as a new couple just yet, sources say in the new issue of PEOPLE.
Earlier this month, Timberlake invited Biel and a few friends to hang backstage at his concert in San Diego, and the pair were spotted snowboarding together with a group of buddies at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, on Jan. 25.
But a close source insists, "It's all about having fun." Since Timberlake's recent breakup with Cameron Diaz, the source adds, "He's trying to have a good time." Of course, there's a good time, and then there's a good time – a distinction that was clear to witnesses (including an angry Diaz) who saw them at Prince's Golden Globe party on Jan. 15.
Surrounded by stars, Timberlake, 26, only had eyes for Biel, 24 – also newly single after a fling with Derek Jeter – as he sipped champagne from her glass and leaned close to talk. In fact, Biel was so smitten, she confessed her attraction to Timberlake's date: his mom, Lynn. As Biel said, "He is sooo cute!"
Just don't expect Timberlake to crank the heat up too high. Says a source: "He is in no way looking to be in a relationship. He's single and he's happy." (Reps for both declined to comment on their clients' personal lives.)

| Mandy Moore Says Dating Is 'Not Fun' |
Mandy Moore has been spotted with DJ AM – but that doesn't mean that she has it easy in the romance department.
"I don't enjoy dating in the public eye. I don't even really enjoy dating," the actress, 22, told PEOPLE at Tuesday's Hollywood premiere of her new romantic comedy Because I Said So.
"I find it really not fun. When it comes to the romantic side of things, I would rather be a girl in a relationship than dating."
Asked if she is dating Nicole Richie's ex, she smiled, shrugged and said, "I don't know."
Later in the evening, Moore was spotted with DJ AM attending the Because I Said So after-party at Hollywood hotspot Boulevard 3. "DJ AM's arm was wrapped around Mandy as she spoke to suits, cast members and guests," an onlooker tells PEOPLE. "The pair still found time to break away to be alone and kiss."
Because I Said So director Michael Lehman also weighed in on Moore's love life, telling PEOPLE: "In my dealings with her where I'd ask her about her relationships and stuff, she was very up front and out there. At the time we were making this, she was dating Zach Braff. He came to the set a few times. They seemed to have a very solid relationship. ... So I never asked her about the turmoil."
Earlier this month Moore revealed that she recently went through a period of depression and attributed part of it to her split from Braff.
"A few months ago I felt really low, really sad – depressed for no reason," she told Jane magazine for its February issue. "The breakup added to what I was going through, but it's not the complete reason." |

LOS ANGELES, California (Reuters) -- It's awards season in Hollywood, with all red carpets leading to the Oscars. But winning that prestigious award can sometimes lead to nothing more than bad roles and even oblivion.
"It's known as the curse of the Oscar, which is very real. The actor's ultimate dream can turn out to be the ultimate nightmare," said movie pundit Tom O'Neil, awards columnist for the Web site The Envelope. Winners like F. Murray Abraham, Brenda Fricker, Linda Hunt, Marlee Matlin and Louise Fletcher are hardly household names despite earning the film world's most coveted award. Other better-known Oscar winners, like Gwyneth Paltrow and Richard Dreyfuss, have complained that winning the award brought them personal and career troubles.
"Winners from Joan Fontaine up to Gwyneth Paltrow and Richard Dreyfuss have all said it was a curse," said O'Neil, noting the Oscar made Paltrow almost too expensive to hire at the age of 26, while Dreyfuss spiraled downward for a while with a high-profile drug habit and a string of flops after his Oscar win for his role in "The Goodbye Girl" in 1977. Paltrow won for her leading role in "Shakespeare in Love" and has said she was unequipped to cope with the pressure, leading her to make several bad choices.
"I think part of the downside about being so successful and winning the Oscar at the age of 26 is that I sort of became insouciant about the things that I chose. I thought 'Oh, I'll just try this, it'll be fun or I'll do that for the money'. Things like that now I would absolutely never do," Paltrow was quoted as saying by the Internet Movie Database.
Louise Fletcher, who picked up the best actress award for her role as the inflexible Nurse Ratched in "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest," went on to scare up roles in such B-films as "Exorcist II: The Heretic," "Firestarter" and "Flowers in the Attic."
"It'll make you wonderfully happy for a night," Fletcher has said of winning the Oscar. "But don't expect that it'll do anything for your career." |

NEW YORK (AP) -- If you should come within earshot of a TV being commandeered by youngsters, prepare yourself: Certain pop-music memes could soon be lodging in your brain. Hear bubblegum riffs like "Cra-ya-ya-zee car." Like, "Chatter, chatter, chatter, chatterbox!" Like, "If that's not love, then what is? If that's not music, then what is?"
If that's not infectious, then what is? Nickelodeon's "The Naked Brothers Band Movie," which premiered last week, dispenses comedy laced with all-too-catchy rock'n'roll. Then, Saturday, it spins off a half-hour series. Consider yourself warned. (Thanks to Nickelodeon's promotional assault, it's a cinch all kids are on high alert.)
"The Naked Brothers Band Movie," which will air again Friday, is a parody of tuneful tweeners poised to conquer the world. In its fancifully conceived, child-centric version of New York, kids enjoy equal footing with adults -- and young and old agree the Naked Brothers Band is the greatest (even Uma Thurman, in one of the film's many cameos). The mockumentary-style action blends "This is Spinal Tap" with "Our Gang," all by way of "A Hard Day's Night."
And one more thing: It's based on an element of truth.
The Naked Brothers Band -- which, by the way, is fully clad -- is fronted by 11-year-old keyboardist-lead singer Nat Wolff, with his 8-year-old brother Alex on drums. Nat really did form a band back in preschool. And he really writes the songs.
Now, by virtue of his and Alex's wherewithal (and that of their mom, actress-turned-filmmaker Polly Draper) they are starring as themselves on TV.
Even though this is a family affair, Draper (best known from the drama "thirtysomething" long before Nat and Alex were born) isn't playing their mom. She's too busy behind the camera with writing, producing and directing chores. On-screen, Nat and Alex are motherless. |

| Brandy Sued For $50 Million From Fatal Car Crash |
The Gossip Girls reported a couple of days ago that the California Highway Patrol (CHP) was recommending that Brandy be charged with misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter. Despite the fact that no charges have been filed-to-date, Brandy was just hit with a legal bombshell. The parents of the woman that Brandy killed in the car accident are now suing the singer for $50 million.
The lawsuit was filed Tuesday morning in Los Angeles County Superior Court. Lawyers for the deceased claim, “Brandy Norwood was driving recklessly.”
Brandy being sued in civil court does not come as a surprise. Regardless of whether or not Brandy is ever receives any criminal charges, she can still be sued in civil court and lose. Civil court does not require “beyond a reasonable doubt” like a criminal court. The best celebrity example of this is O.J. Simpson. Despite being found innocent on all criminal charges, he was still struck down with a $30 million civil suit from the Goldman family (rightfully so).
This is a tough situation for everyone involved. Brandy killed someone is a car accident and has to live with that, and a family lost their daughter that they will never see again. This story will continue to develop over the next couple of months, so keep checking back for updates. |

| BHPD: Garrison Drunk and Coked Up During Fatal Crash |
Lane Garrison just made the biggest mistake of his life, and there were several witnesses to record the account. TMZ spoke with many witnesses that claim they saw Lane snort lines of coke just before the fatal crash when he killed a 17-year-old boy in December, and blood tests have revealed that he was more than twice the legal limit and was under the influence of cocaine.
The Beverly Hills PD have recommended to the county prosecutor that Lane be charged with gross vehicular manslaughter. This felony charge can carry a maximum of 10 years in prison.
According to information released by BHPD, Lane’s blood level was .16 or greater (the legal limit is .08). The story only gets worse from here for Garrison.
Two of the passengers were 15-year-old girls in the car that he was driving. This fact made the police recommend that Garrison also be prosecuted for contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
As reported last month, Garrison meet met Vahagn Setian and two 15-year-old girls hours before the crash, and decided to go partying with them. Witnesses claimed that they saw Garrison take roughly 4-7 shots of Grey Goose Vodka in short time span. One of Hollywood’s big time lawyers, Harland Braun, will handle the defense. Braun says that his client was on the way back to his apartment when the accident happened. |

| Shakira Requires A Spotless Stage |
Talk about making a job tough on people. Shakira reportedly makes her roadies scrub and clean the stage before every concert, because she likes to perform in bare feet. Just think of the labor that a pair of sandals or slippers would save.
The singer, who is currently on the European leg of her ‘Oral Fixation Tour’, prefers to shake around the stage with no shoes on and insists the floor be spotlessly clean.
She told Life Style Extra: “It’s got to be clean otherwise I can’t go on.”
On another note, Shakira has also revealed in the interview that she is desperate to visit Scotland, although the country is not one of the stops on her current tour.
She said: “I love Scotland. I think it’s beautiful. I don’t always get to decide where I go on tour. It’s the promoters, but I would love to come.” As long as the stage is clean, that is.
Finally, Shakira also confessed in the interview that she is anxious about turning 30 on February 2 this year.
She said: “It’s scary. I don’t know what I’ll be doing yet, but turning 30 is a big thing.”

| Paris Hilton Sues Website Over Sex Tape |
Paris Hilton has talked with her lawyers and has decided to sue the owners of the website Parisexposed.com. She is demanding that they close it because visitors can use a credit card to pay to view nude photos and other items that once belonged to her.
Hilton’s suit states that the website, which displays photos, home videos, diary entries and audiotapes of her conversations, as well as images of her passport, is “one of the most reprehensible invasions of privacy of a celebrity”.
The site includes topless pictures of Paris on vacation and also shows her frolicking in a tub with the creator of Girls Gone Wild, Joe Francis (who tried to buy the tape before it was released, but they wanted $7 million for it. In a declaration to the court, the hotel heiress said that the items went into storage two years ago, when she and her sister Nicky moved out of a house after it was burglarized.
Paris claimed that the removal company was supposed to pay the storage fees and she was “shocked and surprised” to learn that the amount had not been paid and that her belongings had been sold at a public auction.
“I was appalled to learn that people are exploiting my and my sister’s private personal belongings for commercial gain,” her court statement says.

Now that he is back as one of Hollywood’s most eligible and desired bachelors, it seems that Justin Timberlake is receiving cell phone calls from former flame Britney Spears.
According to TMZ, it seems that Spears has been ringing up her ex hoping to chat. However, Timberlake doesn’t seem to be as anxious as Britney to revive the relationship and has apparently been giving her the cold shoulder. This would make sense, seeing that it was Britney who cheated on Justin while they were dating.
What’s more, it seems that Justin Timberlake’s latest ex-girlfriend, Cameron Diaz, has gotten wind of Spears’ cell phone attempts and hasn’t liked it one bit. In fact, Diaz is apparently so livid with Britney’s telephone calls to Timberlake, that she tried to get through to Spear’s camp to ask her to stop calling.
In the short amount of time that Timberlake has been back on the singles’ list, he has been linked with a high school sweetheart, Scarlett Johansson and Jessica Biel. The guy sure does keep busy!
Meanwhile, Britney Spears is currently dating model Isaac Cohen in a relationship that seems to be on again, off again.
“Britney hopes Justin will think more of her now that she’s been seen with a successful guy like Isaac, because she isn’t hanging out with a loser like Kevin anymore. She wants to prove she can still land a good-looking, desirable guy.”
Hopefully Britney is not too caught up in getting Justin back. She may just end up disappointed. And, don’t blame Justin. Would you be willing to go back to an ex after that person had two kids with K-Fed? Probably not. |

| Jennifer Lopez ex's tell-all plans hit roadblock |
LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- Jennifer Lopez's first husband, Ojani Noa, was ordered Monday to enter arbitration with the pop star over his plans for a tell-all book about their brief marriage.
Lopez filed a Superior Court breach of contract suit nine months ago and got a restraining order barring Noa from publishing intimate details of their sex life. She also asked for arbitration.
Noa's ghostwritten book alleges Lopez had multiple affairs, including one with her third and current husband Marc Anthony, court documents revealed.
"This is about my life, coming here from Cuba and falling in love with Jennifer," Noa said. On Monday, Superior Court Judge Victor H. Person agreed with Lopez lawyer, Paul N. Sorrell, that Noa was bound to arbitration under terms of an October 2005 settlement of another lawsuit.
A progress hearing in the arbitration proceeding will be held July 30. Noa, who showed up in court again without a lawyer, objected to the arbitration order, saying he wanted the benefit of a public trial of the case.
"Basically, they were trying to damage my name and my career, now they want to go private in arbitration," Noa, 31, told the judge. Lopez, 36, has made every effort to keep the details of the dispute private, but had to go public with her lawsuit in order to get a preliminary injunction against Noa, Sorrell said.
Lopez's damages could be in excess of $10 million if the book is published, the attorney said. In the previous lawsuit, Noa sued Lopez for breach of contract, alleging she lured him into taking a managerial job in 2002 at her Pasadena restaurant, then fired him five months later. |
