Paris Hilton Nabbed For Driving With Suspended License |
Now that the DUI case has been settled and the Parisexposed Website is shut down, Paris Hilton has made another move landing her back in the legal system. In a breaking news story reported by the ap, Paris was cited for driving on a suspended license after police stopped her for speeding and driving without her headlights late Tuesday night.
Hilton was pulled over on Sunset Boulevard in her blue Bentley Continental GTC at 11 p.m., said Sgt. Duane Allen Jr. of the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department.
Always quick on the scene, her publicist Elliot Mintz told the ap, “She was on her way home from buying dvd’s at Virgin Megastore in West Hollywood after spending the day at home for a photo shoot.”
Paris was alone and there was no sign of drinking or drugs, Sgt. Allen reported. Hilton was issued a ticket for driving on a suspended license, a misdemeanor, and released. She then was picked up by a friend and taken home after the incident. Her car was impounded and a court date was not immediately set.
The kicker is, apparently, Ms. Hilton was unaware of the fact that her license was suspended in the first place. While this is a detail that is quite handy to know, surprisingly enough, her publicist was in the dark as well.
“When she called me, she asked if her license was suspended,” Mintz reported to the ap early Wednesday. “If that’s the case, she and I are unaware of it.”
In January, Hilton pleaded no contest to alcohol-related reckless driving stemming from her Sept. 7 arrest in Hollywood and was sentenced to 36 months probation, alcohol education and $1,500 in fines. That case was reduced from an original charge of driving under the influence. |
