Rap star claims police brutality |
US rapper Foxy Brown has claimed she was a victim of police brutality when she was arrested on battery charges at a beauty store in Florida last week.
She held a press conference at a Baptist church in Brooklyn to deny police claims that she spat on the store owner and resisted an officer.
She claimed she was dragged half-naked out of the store's bathroom and picked on by police because she was black.
"The only crime I'm guilty of is being a young black woman," she said.
The 27-year-old star, real name Inga Marchand, denies charges of resisting an officer and simple battery.
She could be sent to jail when she appears in court later this week for violating probation.
In October, she was sentenced to three years probation for assaulting two New York nail salon workers in 2004. |
