Life on Mars car up for auction |
The brown Ford Cortina featured in hit BBC police drama Life on Mars is up for auction on eBay in aid of Comic Relief.
Bidding has reached £8,100 so far. The auction ends on Wednesday.
The 1974 model stars in the time-travel series which tells the story of a modern-day policeman who finds himself transported to the 1970s. The car is described as having "one or two battle scars" from police chases. Other Ford Cortinas on eBay currently have bids of between £500 and £5,000.
It has a "superb tan interior" and comes with a road-worthy N-registered number plate from the era.
Timewarp The car has been converted to take unleaded petrol. The second series of Life on Mars, which is currently on air, is also the last. Viewers will find out how John Simm's character, Detective Inspector Sam Tyler, became stuck in the past.
Producers have promised a "natural and explosive climax", but have filmed two separate endings "to keep everyone guessing".
The first series of Life on Mars was broadcast last year. It was a hit with critics and audiences alike, and won an international Emmy award for best drama series. |
