Christina Aguilera : Makes Scents

Christina Aguilera is looking to be more than just a "Genie in a Bottle." For starters, she's wondering what else she can fit in that bottle. Joining a club that boasts A-listers ranging from Jennifer Lopez to Jessica Simpson, the pop singer became the latest trendsetter to lend her image to a fragrance line, announcing Thursday that she has teamed up with Procter & Gamble Prestige Products to create a signature scent, Women's Wear Daily reported.

“I love trying new things in my music and in fashion,” Aguilera said. “To have a perfume of my own is the beginning of an exciting adventure. P&G is the ideal partner for this new experience.” Well, hopefully the Christina perfume will work out better than "Dirrty" black hair and lingerie chic. Her latest switch to retro glamour didn't do much for her either, at least as far as finicky fashionistas are concerned—Aguilera still ended up on Mr. Blackwell's list of the Worst Dressed Stars of 2006.

Last year alone saw a boom in celebrity scents, with Mariah Carey, Gwen Stefani and the studio behind Desperate Housewives announcing plans to lend their own scentsibility to a crowded market that already includes Lopez (Glow by JLo, etc.), Simpson (Dessert), Sarah Jessica Parker (Lovely), Beyoncé (True Star), Sean "Diddy" Combs (Unforgivable), Celine Dion (Always Belong), Kylie Minogue (Darling), the Olsen twins (Coast to Coast, etc.), Britney Spears (Curious, Fantasy, In Control), Hilary Duff (With Love) and David and Victoria Beckham (Intimate Beckham).
