Eminem May Eat Show Cancellation Decision |
Eminem has been forced to answer for actions taken nearly two long years ago, when the Detroit-raised rapper failed to appear for a show in Ireland back in September of 2005.
Superstar Eminem canceled the Slane Castle event just weeks before it happened, forcing the Irish show promoter to get stuck with the bill. “Show organizer MCD was forced to refund more than 80,000 tickets. The concert date was never made up. MCD’s three London-based insurers failed to cover the promoter’s costs. MCD sued the insurers for breach of contract, seeking up $2 million to recover the costs of the cancellation.”
“Justice Peter Kelly, who is overseeing the case, wrote to the U.S. District Court of Eastern Michigan in Detroit, asking that Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers III, tell his side to a judge in his hometown,” E! News reported. His testimony would then be read into the court record in Dublin.
Of course, there has been an appeal by Eminem to keep his medical records out of the public eye, but that decision remains open-ended. It is now up to Irish courts as to what the final verdict will be and who will ultimately pay the financial burden. |
