Angelina Jolie’s Vietnamese Adoption Underway |
Rumors and speculation surrounding Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s plans to adopt yet another child have been swirling for the past few months. It has now officially been confirmed that Angelina Jolie has filed papers to adopt a Vietnamese child, the country’s top adoption official announced today.
According to ap sources, a U.S. adoption agency representing Jolie filed the papers at Vietnam’s International Adoption Agency, said Vu Duc Long, the agency’s director. "She just filed the papers this week,” Long informed the press.
Jolie and Pitt, not married, but living together in New Orleans, have three children: 5-year-old son Maddox, adopted from Cambodia; 2-year-old daughter Zahara, adopted from Ethiopia; and another daughter, Shiloh, who was born to the couple in May 0f 2006.
The name of the U.S. adoption agency working with Jolie was not named, but it was confirmed that Angelina applied to adopt as a single parent.
The adoption story first started when Jolie and Pitt made a surprise visit to Vietnam over Thanksgiving, when they visited the Tam Binh orphanage, on the outskirts of Ho Chi Minh City.
Since that time, Jolie’s mother passed away.... leading Angelina to a long lasting episode off grief, in which she supposedly was not eating. This has many wondering whether Angelina’s mental state is at the right place to be bringing a new child into her life.
Maybe Angelina figures that the adoption will help her to keep her mind off of her late mother. |
