Regal Mirren wins another award |
Actors Helen Mirren and Forest Whitaker have picked up Screen Actors Guild awards in Los Angeles, confirming themselves as Oscar frontrunners.
Mirren's portrayal in The Queen and Whitaker's Idi Amin in The Last King of Scotland were recognised as the best lead performances of the last year.
Their victories followed both actors' recent success at the Golden Globes.
Eddie Murphy and Jennifer Hudson won for supporting roles, while Little Miss Sunshine won "best ensemble".
Mirren, 61, was rewarded for her regal performances not only as Queen Elizabeth II in The Queen, but also as her predecessor in the TV mini-series Elizabeth |
