Nicole Kidman Involved In ‘On The Set’ Accident |
In a breaking news release that has sent paparazzi scurryining with their olympus cameras and tape recorders, Nicole Kidman was rushed to a hospital on Thursday January 25, after the car she was in crashed into a light pole, police said. Her husband, Keith Urban who was recently released from rehab, was on the set with her and witnessed the accident, as well as her son Connor Cruise, 11, Us Weekly reported.
According to the magazine, Nicole was on set, driving a Jaguar and was trying to get rid of a crowd of zombie-like characters for a scene in “The Invasion.” The car was being towed by a rig, driven by a stunt driver, so that it would appear that she was really driving. “The stunt driver apparently went off course and hit a light post at about 1 a.m.,” police Officer Karen Smith said. “Luckily, both the actress and her costar, a young boy sitting in the passenger seat, were wearing seat belts. Members of the crew immediately wrapped a blanket around Kidman and paramedics arrived to check the actress for injuries,” Us said.
No other actors were involved in the scene at the time of the incident. Two additional crew members sustained minor injuries as a result of the collision,” a statement from the studio, released Thursday, said. LAPD Capt. Andrew Smith said the injuries were mostly minor.
“She had a boo-boo. But one of the people involved suffered a broken arm,” Smith said. The accident is being investigated by Central Division traffic officers.
In the film being shot, Nicole stars as a Washington psychiatrist who discovers the origin of an alien epidemic and suspects her son might be contaminated, too. She is working to find a cure with the help of a colleague before time runs out. |
